Courses for AESA drone pilots

For class C0 and C1 drones

A1/A3 TRAINING

TRAINING CONTENT A1/A3

The Basic Drone Pilot Course is a theoretical training program focused on obtaining the A1/A3 drone license. The course covers the basic use and familiarization with drones, qualifying you to fly in the Open Category throughout the entire European territory.

Once you pass the official online exam, the certificate is issued by AESA – the Spanish State Aviation Safety Agency, and EASA – the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.

Requirements:

  • Hold a valid ID (DNI or equivalent) and be over 16 years old.

A2 TRAINING

A2 TRAINING CONTENT

The A2 Drone Pilot Course is the second-level training according to AESA’s framework. The course is focused on obtaining the A2 drone pilot license. This certificate qualifies you to fly drones within the A2 category across both national and European territories.

With the A1/A3 and A2 certifications, you begin your path toward the professional drone sector, as the A2 license enables you to pilot Class C2 UAS (up to 4 kg) in specific scenarios.

The title is issued by AESA – State Aviation Safety Agency and EASA – European Aviation Safety Agency.

STS-ES-01 & STS-ES-02 FORMATION

SPECIFIC CATEGORY

Within this classification, two standard training scenarios are included: STS-ES-01 and STS-ES-02.

This particular category of drone training covers operations with Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) that present a medium level risk.

  • In BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) operations.
  • In urban environments with C2-class drones or drones under 4 kg without CE marking.

STS Professional Drone Pilot Course Requirements.

  • Be at least 16 years old.
  • Hold a valid National ID or Passport.

Radiophonist Course

The Radiophonist Certificate is essential for operations within controlled airspace.

You will acquire the fundamental knowledge to understand radio transmissions and communicate effectively with air traffic authorities in the corresponding region.

Additionally, you will become familiar with the proper use of communications and signals in emergency and rescue situations, as well as radiotelephony techniques.

Content of the radio operator course

The content that will be studied in the theoretical part will be:

· Emergency procedures

Requirements to be a radio operator

  • Possess theoretical certificates in the Open category: A1/A3, A2, or in the Specific category STS
  • Hold a valid national ID (DNI)
  • Be over 18 years old
